Anniversary auction in Westphalia arouses great interest among buyers

Münster: 30 foals were up for sale at the 80th edition of the Westphalian Online Auctions. The dressage oriented young talents were extremely popular among international customers this evening. At an average price of 12,420 euros, 22 of the foals on offer changed hands. Number 5 Total Spezial vom Möhrkenhof danced to the price peak with a hammer price of 50,500 euro.

The Westphalian auction candidates of the 2024 vintage were highly favoured by the international clientele this evening. A son of the internationally highly successful Total Hope trotted to the outstanding top price of 50,500 euros. Bred and exhibited by Fabian Zemitzsch, Kropp, out of Sonate Fürstin by Fürst Romancier he was named Total Spezial vom Möhrkenhof. The impressive black stallion presented interested parties from Canada, the Netherlands and Germany with an exciting bidding duel. A customer from Canada successfully fought till end. The virtual auction hammer fell at 50,500 euros. Vicky Lavoie from Canada was awarded the top price of the auction with this foal.

Two fillies also cracked the 35,000 euro mark. Once again, the blood of Viva Gold enjoyed great popularity. Viva Emilia was the name of the daughter of Viva Gold/Emilio (breeder and exhibitor: Katharina Wefers, Billerbeck). The liver chestnut filly is the offspring of an embryo transfer mating, meaning that her dam, the six-year-old St.Pr.St. Emilia by Emilio, is currently still competing successfully in elementary level dressage tests for young horses. Ten bidders from four different countries battled for a long time to win the bid for the strong-moving filly. In the end, Switzerland and Spain decided the bidding duel among themselves. Viva Emilia will begin her career in Spain for the top price of 45,000 euros. Head number 1 was also highly favoured by the customers. Ebba is the name of the beautiful daughter of Escaneno/Asgard's Ibiza (breeder and exhibitor: Ulrike Susmann, Rheinberg). The chestnut mare from the damline of the Warendorf state stud stallion Fürst Piccolo impressed with excellent movement quality. Customers from Germany and France battled it out in an exciting bidding contest. With large bidding steps, the French customers repeatedly tried to outpace the Germans. In the end, however, they had the upper hand and Ebba will remain in Germany at the hammer price of 38,000 euros.

This evening already the 80th online auction of the Westphalian Studbook took place. The dressage-orientated Westphalian riding horse and riding pony foals were extremely popular at the anniversary auction. With an average price of 12,420 euros, 22 foals changed hands today. The Westphalian Studbook thus realised a total turnover of 273,250 euros. ‘Together with the sensational foal auction as part of the German Championships in Balve last Saturday and the subsequent online auctions of riding horses and foals, we were able to achieve a total turnover of almost 1.2 million euros for our exhibitors over the past three days’, said auction manager Thomas Münch happily.
